FAQ
Short answers about use cases, vision mixers, pricing and privacy.
Do I still need a second person in the control room?
No – that’s exactly what Multiview Live is made for. The iPhone sits on your camera, you see every picture and cut yourself. With fixed or PTZ cameras you can even sit in the room without a camera and control everything from your iPhone or iPad.
Which vision mixers work?
Any mixer Bitfocus Companion can control – e.g. ATEM, vMix, OBS or Roland. Companion is the middleman: the app presses Companion buttons, Companion controls the mixer.
Can I control ProPresenter too?
Yes. The ProPresenter API is built in: see slides, trigger them, switch playlists – see ProPresenter.
Is there a subscription?
No. The trial is free, Pro is a one-time purchase of €8.99 – see Free trial and Pro.
Is there a Mac version?
Yes, Multiview Live for Mac is a separate app for the control room desk – with more sources, keyboard control and recording. It’s bought separately.
Do I need internet?
Only if you use VDO.Ninja over the internet. Companion, ProPresenter, NDI® and Multiview Live Sender run entirely on your local network.
How big is the delay?
With VDO.Ninja about 0.2 to 1 second. Multiview Live Sender is built for very low latency.
Can I use several iPhones at once?
Yes. Each device connects to Companion on its own – e.g. one iPhone on every camera, each with its own tally.
What data does the app collect?
None. No account, no tracking, no ads. All settings stay on your device.
