Set up Multiview Live Sender
Send a video signal from your Mac to iPhone and iPad with very low latency – for free.
Multiview Live Sender is a free Mac app. It takes a video signal on your Mac and sends it over Wi-Fi or LAN to Multiview Live on iPhone and iPad – with very low latency.
The sender’s interface is currently in German. This guide gives the German labels with a translation.
What it can send
- a USB capture card or webcam (e.g. the USB-C output of an ATEM Mini)
- Blackmagic devices that show up as a webcam (UVC)
- NDI® sources on your network that the Mac receives
- a video file or a test picture with clock for trying things out
What you need
- a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 14 or newer
- iPhone or iPad with Multiview Live on the same network as the Mac
Setup
- Download Multiview Live Sender, drag it into Applications and open it. It appears in the Dock and the menu bar.
- Allow camera access – this also covers capture cards. If macOS asks about the local network, allow that too.
- Plug in your capture card. The sender starts by itself – the menu bar icon shows LIVE.
- In Multiview Live on iPhone or iPad, choose Multiview Live Sender as the video source. The Mac is found automatically.
No capture card? Choose Testbild mit Uhr (test picture with clock) under Quelle (source) to test everything first.
Tip: The sender starts at login and rebuilds everything by itself after a glitch. There’s nothing to babysit.
Multiple outputs
Under Ausgänge (outputs), Ausgang hinzufügen (add output) creates up to four outputs, each with its own source and name. Each output shows up as its own sender on iPhone and iPad.
Next: Best quality and latency.
