Getting started
What you need and how to get Multiview Live for Mac ready in a few minutes.
Multiview Live shows your vision mixer’s multiview on your Mac. Click a camera to switch to it – via Bitfocus Companion.
What you need
- A vision mixer with a multiview output, e.g. an ATEM.
- A way to get the multiview picture to the Mac: USB capture, a Blackmagic device, a video source on your network or VDO.Ninja – see Choose a video source.
- Bitfocus Companion on the same network, controlling your mixer – see Connect Companion.
Setup
On first launch, the Get started assistant walks you through everything. You can skip it and run it again later under Settings → About → Run setup again.
- Choose the video source and your mixer’s multiview format (usually 2+8).
- Enter Companion: IP address, port (default 8000) and the emulator link. Check it with Test connection.
- Optionally turn on Tally and ProPresenter.
- Done – now assign a Companion button to each field.
The main window
- Top: bar with source, layout, Set up multiview and full screen.
- Middle: the multiview. Click a field to switch that camera.
- Right: your Companion buttons (emulator). Drag the divider to resize; ⌥⌘K hides the buttons.
- Bottom: CUT and FADE and a status bar with video, Companion, tally and the time. Click it to open Settings.
Open Settings with ⌘,.
Tip: Always keep a plan B – the vision mixer’s own control panel should be within reach.
